Abstract

Development of techniques for the measurement and estimation of the vertical fluxes of momentum, heat and moisture over the ocean has been the subject of a number of experiments in the last 10 to 15 years. Interest in these studies was motivated by the importance of the fluxes in wave generation, ocean circulation, large scale atmosphere-ocean interactions and effects of turbulence on propagation of electromagnetic and optical radiation through the atmosphere.
