Abstract
Philosophers, in commenting on one another’s papers, often see their task to be the denial of the former speaker’s position.* You will be relieved to know that I do not intend to argue that there are no moral rights belonging to the terminally ill. In fact, I am sympathetic with most of Professor Audi’s substantive proposals and generally agree with him about which moral considerations must be taken into account. Fortunately for the sake of our discussion, I do disagree with him in some of the arguments offered towards those proposals.
