Abstract

Throughout this book, I have tried to convey an understanding and appreciation both of the simulation and information needs of land managers and of some of the ways we have gone about meeting those needs. We have the knowledge, the capability, and the technology to make real strides in upgrading resource management and land management planning. Simulation modeling is by no means the sole solution to our resource management problems, but it is a very important and necessary part of the solution.
