Abstract
An important part of the process of judging the utility and effectiveness of the gradient modeling package is quantitative testing of its various components. Because the model is a system in which inventory errors could cause errors in vegetation and fuel prediction, which in turn would affect fire behavior predictions, its four major components have been tested individually; these include site characteristics, vegetation, fuel, and fire behavior.
