Abstract
The results of hand surgery have been greatly improved by the application of Bunnell’s “atraumatic technique.” Oversize instruments and traumatizing procedures lead to excessive cicatrization, which can severely impair normal hand function. In addition to adequate anesthesia, the following are indispensible for atraumatic hand surgery:
-
A bloodless operating field.
-
Fine instruments.
-
Adequate access.
