Abstract
Frequently, a statistical study is to be based upon records that are given in a form such as:
Name | Test Score |
Abigail Abbott | 183 |
Benjamin Bennett | 72 |
Carlotta Carroll | 137 |
Dominick Dunlap | 166 |
For most statistical purposes, the names are irrelevant and the records may be given in a more condensed form such as a single column of scores or a mere listing of them. As an illustration, Table 2.1 presents the Intelligence Quotients (IQs) of the sixth-grade students in the El Dorado School at Stockton, California as estimated from the California Short-Form Test of Mental Maturity.
