Abstract
The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate the anatomy of the circle of Willis and origin of the arteries at the base of the brain in relation to the skull, cranial nerves, and brain by in-situ dissection with serial photographs and segmental resection of the brain. In the original presentation, colored photomicrographs of the specimens and line drawings to clarify the anatomy were used. In the printed presentation, only line drawings are submitted because the colored photomicrographs did not reproduce well in black and white.
