Abstract

In this chapter the standard operations for cancer of the colon will be discussed in detail. Inasmuch as there are many instances in which the diagnosis is not entirely certain at the time that surgery is performed, brief comments will also be made about some other indications for these standard operations. A detailed review of all aspects of colorectal cancer can be obtained from other reports and reviews.6,8,17,18,25,30,32,33,36,40,43,46,50–53
