Abstract

I am deeply touched that I was asked to give an address at this conference in honor of my distinguished colleague Yozo Matsushima. We have been here together at Notre Dame for a long time. With deep regret we see you return to your native land. I am sure I speak in the name of all, when I say “Yozo we wish you well”. We will always remember you and we hope we can have you back here occasionally or for longer. Mathematics knows no bounds; it spans over all nationalities and continents and within this community of mathematicians we are still united.
