Abstract

Using the theory developed in Chapter III, we now present the fundamental theorems of the spectral theory of self adjoint integral operators. This chapter also contains the spectral theory of differential operators of the Sturm-Liouville type. Integral operators which describe certain physical systems are studied in the next chapter.
