Abstract

All vertebrate animals are subject to annoyance or disease from the activities of parasitic nematodes. No organ or tissue is free from attack and neither invasion of the air nor waters of the earth freed higher animals from the relentless evolution of nematodes as parasites. Current data record nematode parasites of vertebrate animals as more numerous in species than all other helminthic parasites combined.
