Abstract
The previous chapters dealt with inference procedures applicable in one-sample (or paired-sample) problems. We now consider the situation where there are two mutually independent random samples, one from each of two populations. We discuss tests which apply to the null hypothesis that the two populations are identical and the confidence procedures related to these tests.
