Abstract
The earliest description of a urothelial carcinoma involving the ureter was published in 1841 by the French pathologist, Rayer [17]. However, the first convincing account of a primary carcinoma arising from the ureter was reported by a British surgeon, Richard Davy, in 1884 [11].
