Short-Term Tests for Chemical Carcinogens

Part of the book series: Topics in Environmental Physiology and Medicine ((TEPHY))

Abstract

The Salmonella/microsome assay has been described in detail (Ames et al., 1973, 1975b; McCann et al., 1975b). I will present some rationale for using this procedure as well as the results obtained in testing some chemicals.
