Abstract

We believe a major clue as to the molecular mechanism of zinc action at pharmacological dosage levels can be derived from the existence of zinc-calcium antagonism (Brewer, 1980). Since we have considerable information about the molecular mechanism of calcium action, zinc antagonism to those actions suggests that we explore the possibility of a related molecular mechanism of action for zinc.
