Abstract
The worth of an individual is one of the fundamental ethical issues. How do we value human life in general? How do we value (and sometimes choose between) concrete individual lives? Is it al-ways wrong to choose against human life, or do we implicitly make that choice daily and only shy away from explicitly stating it? Is human life special in the universe?
