Abstract
During the past decade an estimated 30,000–35,000 young men in the USA, primarily in the 19–34 yr age group, have developed a malignantgerm cell tumor of the testis (Cancer Statistics, 1977). Although these tumors are rare, they represented until recently one of the most common causes of cancer death in the respective age group (Cancer Patient Survival, 1976).
