Abstract

When considering the immunological mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of any disease of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) three major questions must be asked:
  1. 1.

    What is the target antigen?

     
  2. 2.

    What causes the immune damage?

     
  3. 3.

    What triggers the immune response?
