Part of the book series: Contemporary Instrumentation and Analysis ((CIA))

Abstract

Snyder and Kirkland (1) and more recently Lawrence (2) have discussed a number of ways to inject samples into the liquid chromatograph. They both conclude that a valve is the best way to inject samples onto HPLC columns. This chapter will discuss injection and column switching exclusively by HPLC valves.
