Abstract

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are ubiquitous environmental pollutants. Many compounds in this class of chemicals cause cancer in experimental animals and are suspected of causing cancer in humans. The widespread interest in the analysis of PAH stems from the known and suspected carcinogenicity of many of these compounds present in the environment.
