Abstract
The adrenal gland comprises two physiologically and embryologically distinct parts: the cortex and medulla. It produces a wide variety of hormones whose synthesis, secretion, regulation, and end effects are highly complex. Rather dramatic physical changes and symptoms may result from hormonal imbalance.
