Abstract
We have presented a great deal of data in Chapters 2 and 3 regarding our analysis of various activities on Gotland. These data have been organized in particular ways to emphasize resource, environmental, and economic measures. Readers of this volume may wish to interpret the data and model results in different ways. This is one reason for presenting extensive tables and graphs in the previous chapters and publications. However, in this chapter, we try to summarize the main results of the Gotland study and what they mean for the island and future planning. More general lessons regarding the study of large regions are postponed for later discussion in Chapter 5.
