Abstract
If alignment of components and leg is satisfactory, stability and soft tissue balance are secure, and the level of bone resection is optimal, the factor which will most influence longevity of a total knee replacement is cement technique. Controversies in the use of cement include types of cement, methods of pressurization, optimal depth of intrusion for viability of bone and strength of fixation, and use of cement for filling deficits.
