Abstract

Recently attention has focussed on the molecular biology of the ininunoccrrpetent cell and there are many new observations concerning the nature of the genes which regulate the proliferation of these cells (1); the gene rearrangements associated with the generation of a response to antigen (2); and the structure of the surface products encoded for by these genes (3). A feature of these studies has been the resemblances observed between the conformation of T cell and B cell membrane receptors (4).
