Colorectal Carcinoma

Abstract

Colorectal carcinoma is a common malignancy in Europe and North America. An increasing incidence of carcinoma of the right colon with an associated decrease of rectosigmoid cancer has been observed [1,2]. Endoscopy and double-contrast radiologic examination are efficient methods to detect intraluminal and intramural colorectal cancer. Prognosis and treatment depend on the anatomic stage of the disease [3]. Computed tomography (CT) allows the assessment of extramural and distant tumor spread in primary and recurrent malignancies.
