Abstract
Beta-nerve growth factor (ß-NGF) is a polypeptide of 118 amino acids, and is a member of the group of polypeptide growth factors (PGF) that includes epidermal growth factor (EGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), fibroblast growth factor (FGF), and several other growth factors (see Table 1). PGFs are polypeptides that regulate cellular growth, proliferation, and differentiation (1).
