Abstract
Dr. Britton Chance is known to all of you and I’ve had the pleasure of having known him for many years. You all know that he is not just an outstanding biophysicist, but that he excels in many ways. But to me what is always impressive is to look back and to see whenever I or somebody else thinks we have found something new, Brit Chance has been there many years before, and in addition to that, if anyone has had the pleasure, or maybe displeasure, of working directly with Brit, he or she realized how hard it is because no matter how hard we work, Brit works two or three times as hard. Maybe one should introduce a logarithmic scale for this particular problem, which we should call pC for log Chance. But we’ll leave that to another speech. So it is my pleasure to introduce Dr. Britton Chance.
