Approaches to Protection Against Light-Induced Changes in the Eye
Over the course of evolution, nature has developed a number of ways of protecting the eye and the body from the harmful effects of light. In this chapter the principles of these natural methods of protection are discussed, followed by a description of man’s adaptation of these principles to augment his own protection. However, before we launch into discussion of how to prevent light from striking the eye, we should look at sunlight itself.
