Abstract
The time from September 1925 until about March 1927 was one of the most exciting, productive, and ususual periods in the history of physics. Although not all the significant developments took place there, Copenhagen was very much the nerve center. It was there that new results were continually analyzed and scrutinized, and it was there, strongly influenced by Bohr, that new results were eventually synthesized into a coherent, complete scheme. Thus, Kramers spent his last year in Copenhagen in the midst of this exuberant scientific environment.
