G-CSF as a Differentiation-Inducing Agent in Normal and Leukemic Myelopoiesis

  • Chapter
Tumor Cell Differentiation

Part of the book series: Experimental Biology and Medicine ((EBAM,volume 17))

Abstract

The “reversal of malignancy” in leukemia, while an attractive goal, is one that is rarely attainable in its entirety in clinical or experimental systems. What is more feasible and has proved attainable, is removal of the maturation block in the leukemic lineage with resulting development of varying but incomplete functional and phenotypic features of lineage-specific differentiation.
