Abstract
Epstein-Barr (EB) virus can readily induce lymphomas in the Cottontop tamarin, in which palpable tumours appear about two weeks after virus inoculation (1). Previous studies have shown that these tumours are mono- or oligoclonal, contain EB virus DNA, and give rise, in culture, to lymphoblastoïd cell lines that express Epstein-Barr nuclear antigen (EBNA). We have looked for the transcription of EBV genome and of several oncogenes in such tumours.
