Abstract

The anatomy of the median nerve, given in some detail in the following description, will serve as a background for the three important syndromes involving the median nerve, namely the pronator teres syndrome, anterior interosseous nerve involvement, and the carpal tunnel syndrome. Digital nerve entrapment will be considered separately, because either the median or ulnar nerves may be involved.
