Abstract
A wide variety of tests and assessments have been employed in efforts to examine the relationships between cognitive functioning and criminal behavior. In their review of the literature in this area, Ross and Fabiano (1985) identified four different philosophical frameworks, each of which generated a different assessment procedure. These assessment procedures fall into two categories: direct assessment and indirect assessment.
