Abstract
We consider two variable quantities x and y. We make n simultaneous measurements of both quantities and obtain n pairs of values: x1, y1, x2, y2, ..., x n , y n , and we call the corresponding points (x1, y1), ..., (x n , y n ) in the xy plane the data points.
