Propagation of Electric Breakdown Waves Along a Gas-Dielectric Boundary With No Preionization

An important place in the study of electric breakdown of non-preionized gas in long discharge gaps is occupied by breakdown waves in cylindrical tubes and sliding discharge propagation. There are some common features for the propagation of waves mentioned above and waves in shielded tubes with preionization described in the previous chapter-wave start from high voltage electrode, potential front motion, increase of wave velocity versus supplied voltage value, nonmonotonic relationship of velocity and gas pressure, etc.
