Abstract
Until recently, medical literature about reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) tended to treat the upper or the lower extremities as a whole. The knee joint was seldom mentioned in isolation. Many clinicians doubt that an “RSD knee” is truly an entity that exists. This impression is reinforced by the fact that, to date, there are only a handful of clinical reports that specifically address RSD found in the knee joint.
