Abstract

In the preceding chapters we have presented the evidence concerning the influence that a person’s facial appearance can have on his or her life. It seems obvious that there are some disadvantages attached to being at the unattractive or disfigured end of the physical appearance continuum. However, it is one thing to describe and explain the problems facing such people, but another to provide suggestions or insight into how the problems can be eased. Surely this is an issue that should concern contemporary psychologists?
