Abstract
The aim of this study has been to analyse the structure of a particular time series of wind speeds and directions. Special techniques were developed to divide the series into the following four components, as mentioned in the introduction:
-
(i)
a geostrophic component,
-
(ii)
a land and sea breeze cycle,
-
(iii)
a storm component, and
-
(iv)
a residual series of short-term fluctuations.
