Do Plain and Fibre-Reinforced Concretes have an R-Curve Behaviour?

  • Conference paper
Fracture of Concrete and Rock

Abstract

The fracture toughness of plain and (fibre) reinforced concretes has been determined from axial compression splitting tests. The results suggest the existence of R-Curve behaviour. The Kc value for a given water/cement ratio and mix proportions would seem to be roughly three times the initiation value.
