Abstract

Gastritis is generally classified according to etiology, clinical course, and microscopic appearance. We, therefore, distinguish between chronic idiopathic gastritis, acute hemorrhagic gastritis, infectious gastritis, granulomatous gastritis, and eosinophilic gastritis. Subgroups exist for each major type.
