Conclusions. Trends in Electrooptical Array Antenna Theory and Development
An electrooptical array system is an extremely complex device which unites an active receiving device—more precisely, a coherent-optical processor— and electronic (and this includes computers) hardware (see Fig. 1.1). Serious structural-technological problems have arisen during the development of such devices. Here, there are a large number of problems, including processor element configuration, decreasing the effect of mechanical vibration and thermal influences, decreasing the weight and size and so on. Figures 10.1 and 10.2 give some definite ideas on possible configurations for array antenna coherent optical processors.
