Abstract
This publication deals with the main study within the project “Metalearning in the preschool” carried out in the period 1985–1988 with economic support from The Swedish Council for Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSFR). The other studies in the project have been presented in reports and papers. The report “Meta-inlärning i förskolan. En fenomenografisk Studie” (Meta-learning in the preschool. A phenomenographic study) (Pramling, 1987c) describes the design and implementation of the main study, so that there is some overlapping in this publication with regard to these aspects. The empirical material on which the present study is based was collected during the academic year 1986–1987.
