Abstract
As suggested in Figure 9-1, a large number of processes important in forest nutrient cycling are potentially at risk of alternation from air pollutant deposition. It has been hypothesized that acid deposition may accelerate leaching of nutrients from forest foliage and forest soils, and may alter weathering rates of forest soil minerals.
