Abstract
In this chapter I will summarize the main descriptive statistics for satisfaction and happiness with life as a whole. As we saw in Chapter 1, there are a variety of life satisfaction and happiness measures that have zero-order correlations in the neighbourhood of .60. Here the only concern is with results regarding my 7-step measures. The next section has means and standard deviations for the world sample and each country taken as a whole, and Section 4.3 has figures for males and females taken separately. The final section makes the case for regarding the global sample figures as world norms for university undergraduates.
