Computer Simulation Studies of Bond-Orientational Order

  • Chapter
Bond-Orientational Order in Condensed Matter Systems

Part of the book series: Partially Ordered Systems ((PARTIAL.ORDERED))

Abstract

Computer simulation techniques have been used to study the behavior of the bond-orientational order in many systems and to investigate the effects of imposing bond-orientational order on the properties of physical systems. In this chapter we review the techniques used in computer simulation for the study of bond-orientational order and describe the advantages offered by these techniques. Several illustrative examples of the application of simulation techniques to the study of bond-orientational order are described and some inherent difficulties in the simulation approach to this study are also explored.
