Abstract
This chapter focuses on bone lesions that clinically and radio-logically are suspicious of being neoplasm and that require biopsy for diagnosis. The pathologic diagnosis of bone lesions, either by open biopsy or fine needle aspiration (FNA), requires a thorough knowledge of clinical and radiological data. Lesions in bone suitable for diagnosis by FN A are metastatic neoplasms, which are common. Primary tumors of bone are comparatively rare, although in some circumstances FN A may provide the diagnosis, an advantage in terms of cost effectiveness and optimal management.
