Abstract

Disorders of muscle energy metabolism constitute an extremely diverse group of inherited defects that are generally associated with impaired aerobic and/or anaerobic muscle cell metabolism. These disorders can be categorized as defects of lysosomal glycogen handling, classic glycolysis, lipid metabolism, or mitochondrial structure and/or function.1-4
