Abstract

Procedure activity is a major aspect of control flow, and it is especially significant in Icon because procedures can generate more than one result. This chapter describes the monitoring of procedure activity in detail. The techniques presented are important because they also apply to the monitoring of Icon’s built-in functions and operators as well as string scanning environments. The examples given are intended to illustrate the framework’s capabilities and are by no means the best or only way in which procedure activity may be portrayed.
