Abstract
Bran Ferren is somebody who lives in a fantasy world, but unlike the rest of us, he gets to live out his fantasies. Mind you, it wasn’t always that way for him. He started out, like all good and serious people, at MIT. Then, at the age of 25, everything went wrong. He set up a company specializing in research and development, creative design engineering and systems for the visual and performing arts. So much for good education. At the same time, he started consulting for Walt Disney Imagineering. Then they bought his company, and in 1993 he joined them. By that time, he was an internationally acclaimed designer and technologist working in theater, film, special effects, architecture and the sciences. In 1995, he became executive vice president for creative technology, and R & D.
