Abstract

The Keplerian orbit of the companion B of a visual binary with respect to the primary star A, can be described by the orbital elements: the revolution period P (in years), an epoch of passage through periastron T (in years), the semi-major axis a of the true orbit (in arcseconds), the eccentricity e (dimensionless), the (ascending) node Ω, the inclination i and the longitude of periastron ω (all in degrees) (see e.g. Dommanget 1992).
